2027 VA disability pay chart (projected)

Projection, not the official table. VA has not yet published its 2027 rate tables. Every figure on this page is the official 2026 rate increased by the announced 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment, for rates effective December 1, 2026. VA computes its tables from unrounded statutory amounts, so an individual figure here could differ by a cent from the official table when VA publishes it. The rates VA is paying today are on the 2026 pay chart.

Find your combined rating across the top and your dependent status down the side; where they meet is your projected basic monthly rate. If you have more than one child, or a spouse who receives Aid and Attendance, add the amounts from the Added amounts tables to your basic rate. Compensation is tax-free.

Ratings of 10% and 20%

At 10% and 20% the rate is the same whether or not you have dependents: 10% pays $186.92 and 20% pays $369.50 per month. Dependent amounts begin at 30%.

Worked example, with projected amounts

VA.gov's worked example, recomputed with the projected figures: a veteran rated 70% with a spouse and 3 children under 18 starts with the basic rate for 1 child and spouse, $2,149.13. The basic rate already covers the first child, so each of the 2 additional children adds $78.74, and a spouse receiving Aid and Attendance would add $146.08: $2,149.13 + $78.74 + $78.74 + $146.08 = $2,452.69 per month.

When VA publishes the official 2027 tables, this page will be replaced by the official chart and the calculator will move to the 2027 rates. Until then, the calculator and the 2026 pay chart show the rates in effect now. This chart covers the standard compensation rates only, not Special Monthly Compensation.
